Academic Support

With rigorous curricula and demanding course loads, most students will struggle at some point in their academic careers. As a tutor, I can work with a student to understand their specific needs and address any gaps in knowledge either in a current course or in their foundation. The tutoring relationship focuses on building deep and genuine understanding of content and making it interesting and relatable to a student. Having a strong grasp of the concepts will serve a student well for years to come.

I provide academic support in: Prealgebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, AP Calculus, AP Statistics, Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, AP Macroeconomics/AP Microeconomics, AP Physics, Honors Chemistry, Excel, and Business Math.

Enrichment

Many of my students are consistently high achievers in the topics we address and use tutoring for long-term enrichment. This advancement tutoring relationship focuses on providing academic exploration and higher-level thinking. It ensures that students are well-equipped for what’s to come in a course, helps prepare them for an advanced track in their subject area, or readies students for high-level testing.

I provide enrichment in the following areas: Prealgebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, AP Calculus, AP Statistics, Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, AP Macroeconomics/AP Microeconomics, AP Physics 1, 2, and C-Mechanics, and Chemistry.

Additionally, I prepare students for various math competitions, including the AMC 8, AMC 10, AMC 12, and AIME.

Test Prep

In addition to preparing students for tests and quizzes within academic courses, many students participate in tutoring with me to prepare for specific school or college entrance exams.

While my methodology focuses on building content knowledge and conceptual understanding, I do often address test-taking strategies with students, especially when a student is dealing with test anxiety or special test-taking accommodations.

I have provided test prep for the following exams: ISEE Math, SSAT Math, ACT, SAT, SAT II Math Level I, SAT II Math Level II, SAT II Physics, GRE Quantitative Reasoning, and the GMAT Math. I also prepare students for the AP Calculus, AP Statistics, AP Macroeconomics/AP Microeconomics, and AP Physics 1, 2, and C-Mechanics exams. Please note that SAT II exams have been discontinued.
